Motonari Mōri first appeared as a playable character in Samurai Warriors 3. He is a cunning Daimyo in the Chūgoku region. He is also the father of Takakage Kobayakawa.
Role in the series
In Samurai Warriors 3, Motonari is a famous and talented leader who retired and disappeared from the world. This is until Nobunaga Oda who was currently busy unifying Japan managed to conquer Kyoto thus making the Shogun retreat. This was starting to turn into a problem for Motonari since the Mōri could now be easily become a threat to the Oda.
